  • Utilizes Google to sign you in
  • Stores/updates your Gather account based on your Google account (name, email address, and account ID)
  • Adds photos you specify to your Google Photos library

Permissions you grant Gather

  • Access to your profile (first and last name, email, Google account ID)
  • Read/write access to your Google Photos library

Data Gather stores long term

  • Your first and last name
  • Your email address
  • Your Google account ID

Data Gather temporarily stores

  • Temporary credentials to add photos to your Google Photos library

Dropbox, Facebook, Flickr, and Instagram

What Gather does

  • Accesses and copies photos you specify to your Google Photos library

Permissions you grant Gather

  • Access to your profile (first and last name, email, account ID on the respective platform)
  • Read/write access to your photos (Dropbox, Facebook, and Instagram)
  • Read access to your photos (Flickr only)
  • Read/write access to your albums (Facebook only)
  • Read/write access to your folders (Dropbox only)

  • Non-sensitive metadata about your photos like dimensions and size

Data Gather temporarily stores

  • Temporary credentials to access your photos in order to copy them to your Google Photos library
  • Photos as they are being copied
  • Potentially sensitive metadata about photos like location

Do Dropbox, Google, Facebook, Flickr, or Instagram have access to my Gather data?

No.
